ACTIVITIES FOR THE RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CITIZENS (AFORRC INTL), has condemned the current situation where our women are subjected to Sexism, Racism and Politicoeconomic Inequalities.
Speaking during the Celebrations marking today’s International Women’s Day, the AFORRC called on powerful Individuals, Organisations and Governments to create special Funds to ensure that Women and Children get their Rights to enable them to live up to their Responsibilities.
The theme for UN Women’s Day 2024 (“Invest in women: Accelerate progress”) is aligned with the demands of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 2023:
Without ambitious investments to scale-up prevention programmes, implement effective policies, and provide support services to address violence against women and children, countries will fail to end gender-based violence and Child Abuse by 2030.
There is an alarming lack of financing with a staggering USD 360 billion annual deficit in spending on gender-equality measures.
Just 5% of government aid is focused on tackling violence against women and girls, and less than 0.2% is directed to its prevention.
AFORRC on her own part, has produced a song “CHILD ABUSE BY NZE DR. O”, to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize for political will and resources to address global problems associated with Child Abuse, and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of Crusaders against Child Abuse, Sexism, Racism and Politicoeconomic Inequalities on women.
